Hi guys (and gals).
Hi gals (and guys).
My question is simple:
How do we save a planet if we do not yet have the answer to the "missing link"?
If we do not know, as scientists, how we are linked to this planet, how do we expect to save it scientifically?
We may as well either ask aliens or be aliens to save us......right?
Surely our ability to properly connect ourselves to the animal kingdom would make us more vigilant of their plight?
Or, is the "missing link" our only tool, reason, whatever, to exercise "pride and purpose" as a species that is meant to be "above" animal instincts for whatever surreal reasons we already have imagined and exercised forthwith? |

| Our closest living relatives are the Bonobo. Although they often walk upright, are easily taught to use fire, recognize their image in a mirror, smile like we do and have a clear and distinguishable cultures in their tribes they'll never be popular in the US for one characteristic that's too much like us--they use their sexuality much like we do and uncomfortably often. |

Couple questions;
Missing link to what...Humans and animals? Aren't humans basically mammals, that walk upright (vertebrates), with the ability to reason.
Save the planet, from what? Species have become, lived, thrived and become extinct, for the environments offered by nature. Humans are a little different with that reasoning ability, having the ability to maintain existence under unfavorable condition, possibly to evolve into the new ones. At any rate humans, called modern man, are new to the planet with foreseeable conditions favorable for some time.... |

ps: could we ever get away with patronising nature; is there any reward in looking after the animal kingdom?
would any of us help out our poor and destitute cousins when they reach out for help, because we think they are next of kin to animals right....but would we help them? |
