hey there
new to the site. have a purpose for being here. working on studies I originated. not sure the proper place to post questions/getting help about them on the site. first post will be seeking help concerning my study in developing equation to solve peculiar nonrandom code intertrwined in states' lottery draws (yes, I'm proving that lottery number-picks are nonrandom; defies common thinking I know). requires outside-the-box thinking, but already in progress. what section would be good to post this (it's not all numbers, but includes them)?

I don't know if everything is predetermined, but I prefer to act as if it isn't. It makes life more fun.
Anyway, I think the math forum would be an appropriate place to discuss your ideas, although this is assuming you think you can describe the patterns you see mathematically.
Welcome to the forum. |

Thanks for the direction serpicojr.
Yes, I can provide detailed accounts of the pattern in at least 5 lottery games of 5 different states (those are the only ones I've tested so far).
And I pose two questions: Is playing a board game more fun if you don't know the instructions? Or wouldn't Vegas be more fun if you could win any time by knowing a preprogrammed design to win? |

I tend to personally live by one natural constant, chaos. Of course order can be fun too. _________________ "Victory is in trying. Defeat is in not". - SVRDW. |

Welcome to the forum withch. As Serpico said the maths forum would seem logical for discussion of predermination of lotteries, if you are dmeonstrating this with the use of maths. I'll leave this poll where it is for the moment, because frankly I'm not sure what kind of beast it will turn out to be.
Again, welcome. _________________ The Universe is not only weirder than we imagine it is weirder than we can imagine. J.B.S.Haldane. |

That's why I'm seeking direction for what forum-section to place this in. I believe to finish the equation (lack of a better term), math will be utilized, but the pattern as is so far isn't expressed in mathematical terms.
Are there members here who are advanced enough in mathematics to pull knowledge from higher forms of mathematics? |

Yes, I believe there are four of us who have completed or are working toward a degree in mathematics (or, in my case, both).

No, but it'd also be less fun if I always knew what the next roll of the dice would be.

Yes, but there is only one outcome that would make me happy. In the board game example, I'm happy if my friends win every now and again. In the real world, part of the enjoyment of trying new things comes from not knowing what to expect, or having your expectations blown away by the real thing. |

| I think the rest of this discussion belongs in the Philosophical section. |
