I came across an article recently which claims to KNOW what heaven and hell is like, though of course no one can know for sure if these places exist, if anything exists after death or presume to know what an afterlife is like, but it made interesting reading.

What are your thoughts on it...details here:

Article not posted here due to length.

Hello TheoryofRelativity,

Philosophically presumptuous, credulous, fantastic, nonsensical and hysterical. Whats to be expected in this sort of thing. Sad stuff. Hard to differentiate from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons mythologies in theme.

i've wondered about that too - just like i've been wondering how certain people claim to know what god's will is, or how certain catastrophes are the result of god's displeasure with whatever particular bee in the bonnet the claimant has

Heaven and Hell are whatever you want to be. Doesn't mean you'll be going there when you die though.

Heaven and hell are here on earth.

I rather think the little boy locked in a cage and slowly being eaten by his family was in hell. I hope that now he is well and safe and free from that hell.

It doesn't get much worse than that.

Yes indeed, and this is how we know outside of religious/scriptural claims) what is like any heaven and hell that might experienced beyond this life.

It is difficult for you and me to imagine existing in such circumstances. But I am not sure our imaginations is an accurate measure. For all that I think you are probably quite correct, you might have to ask him about this. People's experience of things can be quite subjective and the external circumstances are not as important as the subjective experience. People can be in hell even when they have every physical comfort and others can be in heaven in the worst physical circumstances.

I think the boys screams were indictative that he was not enjoying his torture. I am pretty sure it was not his idea of heaven. He was seven when this abuse began and it lasted a few months, prior to this we can assume he had a normal ish life.

Personally, heaven and hell might not 'look' like anything. Why so curious about them?

Mystic bullshit. Again, mystic bullshit. Harmful to progression of human thought. This is expeletive deleted nonsense, why bring it up as a matter of consumption Mrs. Falwell? Or should I say Mother? Or how about Mrs. Graham?

How about your personal experience in the divine my good witch? You selfish excessive expletive deleted! You presume to be held to a different standard than nature?

Please understand that this is not how it works my dear homo sapiens. Please save any tarot readings, or any other metaphysical BULLSHIT to your own neurologically impaired misunderstanding.

Enjoy this life. This "brief period of rejoicing". - Winston Churchill

don't take it personal, some people are mentally unwell. They can't help it.

There's always the hope that they're not unwell but simply unaware of the impropriety of their behavior. Then again, history suggests that there is little return on the investment of time and effort in attempting to cool off forum hotheads.

every thing depends I think,

Servent of heven or ruler of hell,

And I personaly think that heven is a terrible place,
If there is nothing bad then you won`t appreciate the good things

portcontrol7,
please try to exercise a little more self restraint. I understand that you feel passionately about the topic and that you consider certain views expressed here, by some parties, to be inappropriate, to say the least. However, you should try to convey such passion with a greater measure of respect for those whose attitudes or views you are condeming. Ego does not ensure correctness.
Thank youfor your future attention in this matter.
Ophiolite.
