I would rather boycott gas guzzlers, like SUV's. And honestly, I wouldn't want an SUV even if it was given to me for free..
When planning a political action I think there are two things to keep in mind:
- people need a choice, and they need to understand what this choice is. Utopian alternatives or even a lack of alternatives wont get people moving.
- it's most effective to try to strengthen an idea or trend that already exists. SUV's are already losing popularity. If we can make sure they don't slowly wither away but instead rapidly disappear altogether then we made a big contribution, without having to introduce a completely concept to the people. |
