I admit that there is an element of guesswork here, but;

if you consider, say, three identical identical particles in a line (for example, in a crystal lattice), each of which can have two spin values (up or down), these spins could be arranged in a number of ways. Denoting spin up by + and spin down by -, you could have:

+ + +
+ + -
+ - +
- + +
+ - -
- + -
- - +
and so on.

If,in general, the number of possible configurations is N, I would say that the 'spin entropy' of the system is given by S = kln(N), k being Boltzmann's constant.
