Hi. I'm curious about whether it is possible to get my PH.d in Computer Science and a second bachelors in engineering?
I will have a bachelors in the spring in pure mathematics. I have a ton of math, but I took 6 years to graduate and I've done the first two years of EE. Plus I'm X-Navy and I was an electronic technician then.
I have been accpeted to a masters program for next fall. But since they don't have a PH.d program I'll be going somewhere else for my PH.d.
I want to go into AI and Robotics. For my masters I'll probably work on the AI part with some robotics. But probably not much robotics. They have only 1 person in that field. While they have 10 or so in AI.
I want a bachelors degree in mechatronics too, but I'm also having a hard time finding programs like that. So I'm confused. I feel like if I had the time I would do both a second bachelors in EE and another in ME.
I know, many of you may say not to do this. Please though I only want solutions to do this, not to be told otherwise.
I'm at top flight math school, and I've taken 14 math courses in the last 3 semesters with a 3.8. I know I can do the work. I just don't know if the system will let me do it. And if not how to go about gaining this knowledge and experience anyway.
Is it common to have engineering in night schools around the US? Maybe after my PH.d I can work on the rest then? And, can a professor take classes in a different field? And if so would it have to be at a different university?
Thanks a million friends. |

If you've already got a bachelors degree, another one won't really do you any good, unless it's in a new field that you want to go in to. Even then, it's not really worth it after you get yer first.
A PHD is very narrow, so if you're really up on that topic, and there's a market for people with PHD's in that area, go for it. Otherwise, it's another waste of time.
Get a masters in something instead. _________________ Wolf
