Hi peeps,
i'm looking to buy a new computer next week, have around 400/600 gbp to spend.
Could anyone link me to some good deals either ebay or online shop for the best deals going..
Just i'm not as computer savvy as i used to be and don't want to fork out for a pile of crap.
would prefer a quad core with decent monitor deal. |

IMHO, don't bother with a quad, get a decent Dual. Most software does not use or need a quad system. |

It's cheap, buecause it's not good. In fact it looks like a scam to me. The first link, note:
CPU speed: 9.6 MHz
RAM: 8.192 MB
Which is very poor. Since this is Ebay you're dealing with someone has probably posted this crap hardware in a fancy case, in a bid to fool people. It won't be 9.6 GHz for sure, and 8 GB of RAM seems unlikely too (and unecessary).
I'm from UK too, and just built a new PC. If you're up for building, use Overclockers UK. Good service, and decent prices.
I just upgraded. Got a Q6600, 2GB crucial ballistix tracer, Gigabyte motherboard, and 620W coolermaster PSU for around ÂŁ350 with delivery. Get yourself a decent hard drive, any old case, and see what you have left for a monitor.

I got a Dell as a present, sort of a spare computer for when the need arises to have 2 going, and it's pretty decent, the video card could use an upgrade. They don't put that sticker on the back anymore either, for warranty purposes.
As for the comment about the quad, yea, something to consider, but it reminds me of when I bought my first Pentium (the previous computer having been an IBM XT!). It had a "dual speed" CD-ROM drive (in today's lingo "2x") and he cautioned that you'd never need a quad speed. Hee hee, yea, sorta like Gate's "you'll never need more than 640KB" quote, but just something to think about. Memory & drives are easy to upgrade - processor not so much.
