Well I am not actually but apparently 39,000 Brittons (ish) are and this is the fourth largest religion in the UK.

So do you fancy being a Jedi warrior and practicising Jedism?

Being a Jedi would of been nice, but I wouldn't like to spend all my life
fantasicing this fantasy.
But if I was offered to be one then sure, why not? Very Happy Very Happy

We're on the internet. If you find statistics dubious, check them.

I don't regard this topic sufficiently serious to warrant checking statistics, but feel free to do your own checks at any time. Meanwhile I did make an allowance for error by the inclusion after the 39,000 with the '(ish)' indicative therfore that the figure was not accurate.

Meanwhile I doubt in fact that 390,000 people are practicing Jedism, regardless of statistics.

It's just as good as any other faith >.>

Also, I don't think the people claim to be Jedi with powers, but rather that they follow the Jedi religion from the Star Wars movies, which was basically a form of pantheism stolen from Eastern religions.

I think it is some kind of gag, but what would be the advantage for any religion to be recognized by the UN? Why would the UN be in the business of recognizing religions?

That is a large number: 390,000.

But it would be sort of cool to be a Jedi Knight, think about all the smart things you could do.

What would being a "Jedi" entail? A user-friendly version of Greek Stoicism?

Around 1999, Bill Moyer interviewed George Lucas about how Star Wars was related to religion. There is a video of this interview that floats through the internet from time to time, but the following link is text version of a small part of this interview.
