Every time I register on a forum, and after I lurk for a while, I can't help but feel that people are so young! Am I the only person of my age who has such a sad life? Maybe I should start surfing dating sites instead. Or better yet -- get a job.

Yes, count that as my introduction. Writing "hi, i'm new here etc." feels a bit pointless to me. I don't want another wasted thread, though I'm sure it's a bit too late for that.

We appear to have a wide range of ages here, I am not aware of who is at either end but I have seen 'admissions' of ages ranging from 18 to 79.
I personally, retired at 50 - but that seems a long time ago now.

About my avatar: This is a smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) simulation of the merger of two galaxies. The code was written by Volker Springel of the Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics at Garching Germany. This simulation uses 20,000 disk particles (stars) and 40,000 halo particles (dark matter) per galaxy. The three views are, from left to right, the x-y plane, x-z plane, and y-z plane.

Just for the record, I have no idea how to read any of those code numbers. My bad, I'm not a nerd.

Quite sad indeed. Many gave you the names of them, and had you simply looked up numbers or codes you would have instantly found answers.

You, sir.....PHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
