Is it true that before any intense muscle workout, weight lifting, running etc, that it is importnat to "stretch" the muscles properly. If so, why ? _________________ The hand of time rested on the half-hour mark, and all along that old front line of the English there came a whistling and a crying. | its very important to becuase it allows better blood flow and it broadens the legth your able to move it to. it your muscles were all tence in otehr words your movements wouldnt be as impactual on your muscle development, rather it would put more stress on you and make you jsut fatigued, this is why most over wieght people who try to excersise never really lose anything, because they were only stressing there muscles with labor rather tehn streaching throughly and enjoying a nice excersise. a big big diffrence there |

Yeah as Cccscience said the muscles perform better after stretching.
Bodybuilding: Stretching a muscle (even to the point of injury but don't do that) promotes growth for several reasons. It opens voids around individual cells, which they may swell to fill. These voids may even harbor new cells. |

Are there any drugs (legal) which can aid to fat loss ? or any foods ? _________________ The hand of time rested on the half-hour mark, and all along that old front line of the English there came a whistling and a crying. I've been weight training for a number of years: stretching before a workout is essential in avoiding injury. After each set you do, particularly targetting the larger muscle groups, stretching actually reduces the next-day pain you feel, plus it helps in the healing process of torn down muscle. When done your last rouitine, take five minutes for some 'softer' stretching.
Don't just take my advice, look it up on any good weight training site; it's all there. |

Wrong season, but, your mammalian metabolism will burn great feasts of calories to keep warm. You needn't actually shiver or feel uncomfortably chilled. Saves on heating bills too. |

Ya, if you are over-weight a doctor can prescribe weight loss pills, although they tend to be hard on the heart and kidneys and I would recommend exercise and a change in diet before you attempt pills. I would even recommend surgery over pills in some cases. |

If you are fairly overweight you would probably never be able to get a six-pack again. AFAIK, once you reach adulthood you are left with a certain amount of fat cells. When you gain weight the fat is stored in the fat cells, but the cells can only get so big before they start having problems with the excessive volume. So your body creates more fat cells, which stays there even after losing the weight. So in extreme cases you can have liposuction done or have the excess skin folds removed.
The best thing I have found for burning fat is small weights, high reps. With proper breathing you’ll feel your muscles burn as the aerobic respiration burns the fat. A good trainer can hook you up with a good routine which, among others, would include spinning, steps and one of those platform shaker machines which I’ve heard do a good job.
Try and eat smaller portions more often through the day with the last meal a few hours before you go to bed. Your stomach would shrink back soon enough so you’ll feel full from less food. Try and cut down on fat.
Do some research, stay away from gimmicks and good luck! _________________ "Gullibility kills" - Carl Sagan |

i have also heard that if you exercise in the morning before you have eaten anything then your body will have no choice but to dip into its fat reserves, is ths true ? _________________ The hand of time rested on the half-hour mark, and all along that old front line of the English there came a whistling and a crying. The less carbohydrates available, the quicker your body will go into using fat reserves, but if you didn't use them up the night before probably not. You tend to keep a pretty large reserve of glycogen in the liver and unless you have a health problem you should have constant blood sugar levels at all times and this means you still have to exercise about 20-30 minutes before you really start to burn fat. |
