I will be honest here I am not a religous person, i haven't done bible studies stc.

However I do agree with christian principles on morality and how people should live there lives.

Now i'm not sure if i believe in jesus, . But does following a christian way of life. e.g. help thy neighbour, don't steal, marriage is sacred. etc.
make me a christian? or am i just someone who agrees with the ideal?

Its called "being a good man"... Christians didn't invent goodness..
I mean... at least I didn't see the patent of goodness listed by JC at the USPTO leatly...

But i mean somethings that are exclusive to christianity i also believe in... not sure exactly but i dont agree with worshipping inanimate objects or idols like a cupboard or a statue of a bull

For Christianity, to believe in God is more important than doing good things. Jesus is one of the God's many forms. In the bible Jesus said " I am the truth, I am the way and I am life" So Christianity without Jesus is not Christianity.

If you believe in goodness without supernatural or miracle, then Buddhism may be more suitable for you.

Of course, goodness and religion are not mutually inclusive.

Note:
1. Goodness is not a well-defined concept. In certain circumstances there may be conflict in goodness principles. For example, if you saw your mother injured a child, should you report the incident to the police?
2. Buddhism does not deny nor confirm God's existence. It believe s that the Law of Nature ultimately determines your fate. So some people say that Buddhism is not a religion.

As noted earlier, some say Buddhism is not a religion, some say it is.

For example: From Wikipedia
Quote:
The world's principal religions and spiritual traditions may be classified into a small number of major groups or world religions. According to the 2005 survey of Encyclopædia Britannica, the vast majority of religious and spiritual adherents follow Christianity (33.06% of world population), Islam (20.28%), Hinduism (13.33%), Chinese folk religion (6.27%) or Buddhism (5.87%). The irreligious and atheists are 14.27% and 3.97% follow indigenous tribal religions.

If you visit Thailand, and ask people about their religion, most of them will say they are Buddhists.

Buddhism is a religion. You are free, however, to believe in Buddhist ideals, in which case you would be believing the "way of life" and not the religion. Religion != philosphy?

As for Christianity without Jesus... Judaism much?

EDIT: 425 Chaotic beat me to it. I should be more attentive.
