I purchased the first season of this wonderful show and enjoying it (while watching the second season).

I was just wondering.

Is Laura Rosalind (the President) guilty of:
-The destruction of the Olympic Carrier.
- The slaughter of innocents (she abandoned people during the initial cylon attack - to save her own butt).
- Subverting the military and wasting military resources (She sent Starbuck to Caprica).
- The murder of an innocent Cylon/Human (She flushed him out the airlock).
- Being drugged up 24/7. Surely you noticed that her Kamalla extract is a lot like pot?

And is it just me, or is Cally really frakkin' awesome? She:

- Shot Boomer.
- Bit off a guys ear.
- Survived on Kolbal for a couple of days.
- Is really hot.
- Knows how to fix things.

Cally is hotter than Boomer.

Yes, but under the circumstances I would have flushed the dude as well. I don't remember her part in the other incidents you mention. And being partial to the pot myself I couldn't hold that against her. She plays the part well I hate her and can't wait for the cow to die Twisted Evil
As for Cally she's not too bad...

i think we all would have flushed the dude, the olympic carrier was probably already infiltrated by Cylones hence it was a good decision, leaving the people behind was an action she had to take or else they all would have died, she obviously thinks being drugged up is one hell of a way to go and YES she is probably wasting valuable reasources. second season hasn't been shown here yet so i'm still waiting.

Cally is one awsome chick but doesn't get a descent amount of screen time compared to the others.

I think Laura Rosalind is guilty of believing in the supernatural a bit too much, but if it works for her.....

I don't think we can say she "murdered" the Cylon... it wouldn't have been any different if she had flushed a laptop out of the air lock, albeit the Cylon's AI was a bit more advanced.

Her drug use is keeping her lucid, so the side effects are medically tolerable, moreover her condition is terminal, so the morality of drug use to ends achieved justifies the means. My memory fails me on the rest of her actions in the show.

But Starbuck is the hottest. I'm a complete Starbuck junkie. Hell, I even liked Starbuck in the original series, but I never would have predicted then that I'd be having sexual fantasies now! That frickin' cigar! Her taste in music! It's all good Smile

Indeed. You all have resonable arguments.

Does anyone else see what they're doing with BSG and American politics? The President is a little too religious, and is on a holy quest... The cylons look like us... blah blah blah.

Surely everyone has noticed that?

I enjoy the show of course, I haven't watched an episode in over a month. I have 4 episodes on my Tivo right now since one episode didn't record so I have to wait to record it. Oy.

I hated the whole religious war setting. Were the cylons supposed to be muslims on jihad or what? They certainly were fanatics with their agenda of killing all heretics. Why couldn't they just be programmed by a mad scientist (Balthasar?) to kill everybody? Hmm, maybe that's what the writers are trying to say, that religious fanatics are like insane robots out to kill all humanity.
Still, I hate it when sci-fi series are littered with religious rubbish, it's so unimaginative. Don't get me wrong, I like the BSG remake, but it could have been even better.

I enjoyed the season 1 and 2. And the last episode I saw, was when they where invaded by the Cylons while Baltar was president.

It's funny to see, that how much this serie is better compared to the first one, dispite the fact that the original scenario is the same.
The new battlestar gallactica, is dark, realistic (humans flaws all away around), the clones and cylons are dangerous, intelligent fanatics. They are not this ridicule and stupid robots of the original serie.

Batllestar gallectica new version is the best realistic science fiction serie that I ever seen.

I can't wait to see season 3. Fascinating

I completely agree. It's the only sci-fi worth watching in my opinion. When you grow tired of the same ole cookie cutter plot lines, lack of imagination, lack of true depth of character development, almost soap-opera like presentation of all the other sci-fi crap - you watch BSG. It's what I've been waiting for out of science fiction all of my life.

It makes star trek look like bubblegum TNT drama...
