There is this guy claiming that humans are the only species to have sex for pleasure and are wrong for doing so in general. Also that people should stop having sex altogether. Heres a link to his site.

Can something like this be true. I thought the effects of holding back sex were negative. And i read articles that say there are other animals than have sex for other reasons that Procreation. Does evolution really want humans to discontinue having sex. |

| I think, he is just angry that he doesn't get any. Bonobos have a lot of sex to reduce aggression. And they don't care at all, who they are doing it to. I'm not saying the we should follow their standards, but it's just not his business. I think there are even fascistoid tendencies. So, I'd say: File it as "Read it, odd! Forget it!" |

Although i am all for self control in this context. Humanity could not survive without procreation. It is ridiculous to think that Humans should not stop. There are far more negative consequences than there are positive ones.

What strikes me is that the author’s views are eerily like those of the Houyhnhnms in this chapter of Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels.
The Houyhnhnms are a race of thinking horses whose lives are completely governed by reason and rational thought – so much so that they are like calculating machines, intelligent but devoid of feelings and emotions.

The recreation value of sex tends to ensure that the products of procreation have both parents on hand to rear them, since the recreation helps to form pair bonds. This is about as natural a practice as one can get.
In addition to the bonobos mentioned by Dishmaster we should consider dolphins which are very active in this field. Perhaps sex for recreation is a reflection of intelligence, so the author of the hypothesis may simply be dumb.

He's probably is one of those religious extremists who think that the "fruit" eaten by Adam and Eve was actually a metaphor for sex. These kind of crazy theories have been around from time to time, luckily the ones who actually follow it religiously never procreate so the idea doesn't spread very much. Although there was this cult here in the US, not sure when, but they were adopting children and teaching them this following so that they could start gaining a following, luckily the US Government stepped in to prevent them from adopting more children and they all died out of old age and the religion died with them.
In the bible it tells them to be fruitful and multiply, and since we humans have been doing pretty good with the method we have now I'm sure it is the way it is supposed to be. Other methods just don't work!
Seriously, the guy needs to get laid.
After reading his article, it looks like he is on the opposite end of the spectrum, saying the laws of science and nature dictate an abstinence from sex, leading me to believe that he may be like Jack the Ripper, unable to either have sex or procreate so he is trying to come up with an alternative.
Either way it is messed up.

Actually, Cats, horses, and dolphins, have also shown to have sex for pleasure. Other primates have been discovered masturbating, or even using tools for doing so...hahah.

I disagree with the claims. For a start evolution doesn't have 'wants' or desires. I firmly believe that the method for reproduction is of a stable nature. I'm just hoping evolution follows the thesis of 'if it aint broke, don't fix it'.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, is also something we can use here. So people who hate other people who HAVE sex, should mind their own business.
But there is an idea of males who should have been getting pregnant. But that way females are practically useless. Maybe as a babysitter, but for the rest?
Hmm, Maybe that's a good thing. No more whining about the pain that childbirth gives. Because even women who did give birth say that breaking an arm or a leg hurts way more then giving birth. And i brok my arms twice. So i am a happy father of my twins  (dual fracture).
